How-To Instructions

Here are instructions on how to screenprint a 1-color design using a Teeny Screenie silkscreen kit.

How-To-Illustrations-001-01

First, lay your substrate (fancy name for the thing you want to print on) down on a flat, non-slippery surface.

Secondly, place your Teeny Screenie stencil down where you want your design to appear.

How-To-Illustrations-001-03

Scoop approximately 1 tsp. of ink onto your stencil. Spread the in in a line close to the edge of the frame furthest way from you.

How-To-Illustrations-001-04

Before your first print swipe ink across your mesh coating your design. Start at the bottom and wipe the entire amount of ink over your design, leaving the ink at the top, ready for your first print.

How-To-Illustrations-001-05

Squeegee the ink across your stencil's mesh passing over your design completely. Hold your squeegee at an 80° angle from your stencil surface when pulling the ink across.

Make sure you apply enough pressure for the mesh to contact the surface underneath.

How-To-Illustrations-001-07

Carefully tilt your Teeny Screenie off of your substrate to reavel your print! For paper allow 2 minutes to dry. For fabric allow 5 minutes and to help design withstand washing, iron the dried design on medium to high setting for 20-30 seconds.

IMPORTANT! If printing multiple pieces, flood your screen inbetween prints. Flooding means to wipe ink back over your stencil to prevent your screen from drying out and permanently clogging your mesh with dried ink.

Simple Teeny Paper Printing

We just did a SUPER simple video demonstration for printing on paper using a Teeny Screenie! This process works for textiles too! Be sure to check out the cleanup video!

Simple Teeny Screenie Clean Up

This is a simple video on how to wash your Teeny Screenie. This is something you should do immediately after printing to avoid ink drying on your screen.

Active Transportation Prints!

Active Transportation AllianceCongrats to Rebecca of Active Transportation Alliance of Chicago for blasting out her first custom teeny screenie! We made a one-color screen of their logo and this is a video of her very first print. You can see how easy it is. Sorry for the sideways footage, we were really excited!

Vesi Prints

This is a short demo of Vesi doing a teeny screen print on a bean bag. This shows how versitile the stencils are and the variety of things you can print on!
